Configure the Settings: Click the system tray icon to pull up its clean, basic menu. We recommend enabling these standard toggles:
Check “Start with Windows” so the tool is always ready when you boot your PC.
Check “Run as Administrator” to ensure it remains compatible when hovering over administrative windows or task managers.
Check “Enable mouse wheel support for applications without it” to fix older software. Do You Still Need WizMouse? (Windows 10 & 11)
While WizMouse was a revolutionary tool for Windows XP, Vista, 7, and 8, modern operating systems like Windows 10 and Windows 11 have this feature built-in natively.
If you are using a modern version of Windows, you can achieve the exact same behavior without installing third-party software by following these steps: Enabling Native Inactive Scrolling in Windows 11 Open your Settings app (Windows Key + I).
Navigate to Bluetooth & devices on the left menu, then click Mouse on the right side.
Locate the Scrolling section and turn the toggle ON for Scroll inactive windows when I hover over them. Enabling Native Inactive Scrolling in Windows 10 Open your Settings app. Go to Devices and select Mouse from the left-hand column.
Toggle the option “Scroll inactive windows when I hover over them” to On.
